Lifelong friends and critically acclaimed Scottish pipers Ross Ainslie and Ali Hutton bring their masterful arrangements of pipes, whistles, cittern and guitar to Hartlepool Folk Festival. Named ‘Best Duo’ at the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2017, the pair’s flawless, fearless, and melodic sound has spawned three albums (SYMBIOSIS, SYMBIOSIS II, and SYMBIOSIS III).

Joining Ross and Ali are three of Scotland's finest instrumentalists, Jenn Butterworth on guitar and vocals, Owen Sinclair on cittern, guitar and vocals, and Patsy Reid on fiddle. Collectively, these five musicians have 'a million' years of experience and have performed all over the world with Scotland's top bands. They have performed together in many formations and create a truly symbiotic connection - a true powerhouse of folk!
