Sessions and singarounds

From shanties to tune sessions and singarounds, there will more opportunities than ever to get stuck in.

There will be lots to do on the NMRN site, including sessions and activity in the cafe on board the paddle steamer Wingfield Castle, which has free entry. The Jackson’s Wharf Pub, just next door to the site, has proved a fantastic venue for singing and tune sessions late into the evening!

Over on the Headland, there are superb pubs which are perfect for a pint and a song or a tune. The Cosmopolitan, just up the road from the Borough Hall, is ideal for tune sessions. A few minutes’ walk from the Borough Hall, the Fisherman’s Arms is a favourite for song sessions. They’ll also be hosting a beer festival during the weekend. The Duke of Cleveland is another great spot for sessions, and is home to the Headland Folk Club. It will also be the venue for our “Eyes Down” Cabaret.

While the festival will be timetabling a number of hosted sessions and singarounds, there will also be plenty of places for you to start your own.
